Teacher Dress Up: Casual Fall Fridays

Uniqlo sweater / J.Crew navy blazer / Karl Lagerfeld mid rise white jeans / BCBGeneration leopard print ballet flat / Topshop woven tote / Juicy Couture rocker jewelry / Elie Tahari jewelry / Gap grain belt / FOSSIL metal-frame sunglasses

In an effort to stretch your white denim into the fall season, introduce it on casual Fridays.  Something feels a bit more dressed up about white denim, than a traditional blue denim.  If you’re looking for a not-too-skinny, not-too-wide pair, Joe’s are on sale here.  I chose to layer with a camel sweater, which could be replaced with any fall hue.  A dark green or grey would look nice as well.  Gap has a nice shirttail hem that will hit at the right length.  Stay away from royal blue, light blue, pinks, and coral which can look too summery.

The shoes.  I usual wear my leopard loafers with this outfit, which can be spotted on ebay if you keep a watchful eye.  However, I chose to update the look with a newer pattern in the standard loafer style.

I posted the factory version of the standard J.Crew blazer.  But, the regular one can be found cheaper, if a 25-30% off coupon is applied to a discounted price.  I would wait it out until the stars align, rather than settling for the Factory version.

As for the belt, I chose a dark, chocolate brown belt with gold hardware.  I would even look for a chunkier version with side hardware for a more equestrian look.  I chose a simple red bangle to pull together the red trim in the shoe.  I came across T. Tahari jewelry on the sale rack at Lord and Taylor.  I picked up a few pieces which were equal parts professional and stylish.  These drop earrings add some ladylike appeal, but keep to the overall look of the outfit.  The gold aviators keep with the thin gold theme.  The bag looks like a great piece for a to and from tote.  If you want a leather look, this is a great leather bag for around $150.
